How did you meet?
June 2009: It was the summer of 2009 and I was going to be a Junior at Cy-Fair! I loved baseball and one of my best friends played on the Golden Glove baseball team for Cy-Fair so I would go to the games with his girlfriend to act as a cheerleader. Cameron was #10 and an incoming Senior, I couldn’t tell you if the boys won the game or not but I can tell you that the first time I met Cameron I had an inkling that he would be in my life for a really long time to come. We started dating shortly after our first meeting and have seen each other grow and mature throughout the remainder of High School and into College at Texas A&M University. We started our married life together on April 8, 2016 with the help of the Chateau family and Glorious Cuisine family.
What is your proposal story?
March 7, 2015: Cameron’s plan to get me to Coles Crossing Lake involved an elaborate story about looking at a structure by the lake to build at his Uncles house in Livingston. Cameron is in construction so I completely believed everything he told me and did not see the proposal coming at all because we were set to celebrate Cameron’s birthday that weekend. Once we got to the lake I was completely oblivious to the rose petals that were scattered on the pier, instead I was focusing on the cute little boy who was learning how to fish out of the pond. As we got closer, I still remained in La La Land and ended up bumping into Cameron because I hadn’t realized he was stopped underneath the barn like structure. I immediately saw the roses and Mason jar candles and thought “Oh Crap! It looks like something important is going to happen, we should move so we don’t ruin it!!” Once I looked up into Cameron’s eyes though everything clicked in my head and I started crying the happiest tears. I was in shock because he had always teased that he wouldn’t marry me without my degree first so I wasn’t expecting a proposal until at least May (when I was set to graduate from A&M). Our proposal was so sweet and I swear Cameron said the most sincere and loving words but because I was bawling all I heard was “Brittni, I love you….. (something out of a Charlie Brown Movie…blah blah blah)…Will you Marry Me?” I was honestly just so grateful my mind cleared enough to hear him ask the most wonderful question I have ever heard so far. I was thrilled to say YES and couldn’t wait to begin planning our big day because I was finally going to get to marry my best friend. (Cheesy I know)
Why did you choose Chateau Polonez as the location for the magical day?
Chateau Polonez has been very involved in my life for the past 9 years! When I was in high school I worked for the catering portion under the direction of the head chef Adam and fell in love with the building and the people. Chateau is a huge, loving, and all-encompassing family who opens their arms to everyone. Cameron and I felt so privileged to be able to get married in a venue that has always supported our relationship and be surrounded by those relationships we have cultivated over the last 6 years we had been together.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
My favorite part of our day was the First Look because I got to see Cameron one on one and really was able to soak in the moment before we were surrounded by our friends and family. The whole day I felt calm and collected and did not feel the nerves that for sure were expected. I think because I knew I was going to get to see him before I wasn’t as worked up and got to really reflect and observe all the little details of our day!
