Chateau Polonez began as an idea from Ania that became a dream come true. Ania immigrated to the United States from Poland in her 20’s after spending a few years in France first. Upon Ania’s arrival to the States, she dove into floral and catering; she knew how to make a party come to life.
After many years hosting small events, she wanted a beautiful place to call her own. Ania knew she wanted to have a European inspired building with a modern twist, and drew on her knowledge of European architecture for inspiration. During conception and development of the venue, Ania and one of her daughters, Kasia, worked side by side. Kasia was in charge of all the business aspects, and Ania was the driving force behind the overall design and concept.
After opening its doors in 2005, Chateau Polonez has kept with Ania’s original idea of one-of-a-kind events that offer delicious, freshly prepared food by our in-house caterer, Glorious Cuisine, in a warm inviting atmosphere. Ania’s other daughter, Basia, joined forces with Kasia who are now keeping Ania’s dream alive.
The meaning of Chateau Polonez is in two parts drawing from Ania’s European roots. Chateau can be interpreted as a castle in French. Polonez is a polish dance that originated in the 18th century and was always the first dance at the beginning of the ball that couples participated in. It is one of the five historic national dances in Poland.
Kasia is a native Houstonian, but is also proud of her Polish heritage. After graduating with a Marketing degree from University of Houston, Kasia was privileged to be a part of Chateau Polonez since its creation.
Being with the venue for more than a decade, Kasia has a collection of fond memories of wonderful clients, beautiful events, and loves the people she works with in the event industry. She is lucky to be working alongside her sister who was her worst enemy growing up, but has become her best friend and partner in crime.
She is married to her high school friend, Christopher, and together they have a happy family with their little boy Owen, and doggy, Cash. When she is not having fun at work with Basia and Lauren, she enjoys spending time hanging out with her family, good food, a glass of champagne, and dancing her heart out.
Basia was born and raised in Houston, TX, but her roots are Polish. She loves her polish culture and the fun and traditions that go along with it.
Basia studied Fine Art Sculpture and Jewelry Design at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She later moved back to Houston after meeting her husband, Marcin, coincidentally at Chateau Polonez on New Year’s Eve.
Since moving back to Houston in 2007, she enjoys working side by side with Kasia, learning a lot from a business perspective. She adds the right amount of sass and class in the office. Basia loves seeing how excited couples get when they enter the grand foyer and can’t wait to make their dreams become a reality.
Her two amazing kids, Maximilian and Roxana keep her happy and busy as can be. She enjoys going to crossfit and cooking fresh and healthy meals for her family. Her most important things in life are family, friends, health and some fun in the sun on a beach….. on an island somewhere….with a cocktail in hand.
Originally from Philadelphia, Lauren has lived here in the great state of Texas for almost nine years. Having completed her undergrad at University of Delaware and her MBA at University of Houston, she has a love for both her hometown teams, the Eagles, Phillies & Blue Hens as well as her local teams, the Cougars & Texans.
When she isn’t rooting for her professional teams, she’s out competing in triathlons with her husband Griff and their triathlete team, the #Trifunctionals. In addition to sports, Lauren spends time volunteering with Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue and Faithful Paws Pet Therapy Program with her Golden Retriever Patrick. She rescued both of her dogs, Duke and Patrick, who are her and her husband’s furbabies.
Lauren loves her job at Chateau Polonez getting to meet new couples during the happiest time of their lives. She toasted to her first Chateau anniversary in October 2015 and hopes to continue working with couples for many more years to come!
Ania was born and raised in Poland, but has been a Texan for more than half of her life now. Ania is the founder of Chateau Polonez, and was the main force in designing, creating, and opening its doors in 2005. She has a background in floral design; her creative eye played a major role in the beauty of the space.
Since she retired a few years ago, she has passed the torch to her daughters, Basia and Kasia, who she has entrusted with her legacy. Although she is no longer in an active role with the venue, she still pops in for surprise visits and is always happy to provide advice.
She spends her free time now tending to her garden, watching her grandchildren grow up, and an occasional glass of wine with her friends on the patio.

I chose Chateau Polonez for its castle-like feel. I definitely felt like a princess and very relaxed. The staff was very attentive and the greenery was lush and perfect for pictures!

Chateau Polonez was an amazing place from the first time we walked in there. The reason that we picked Chateau Polonez was because of the location and also that we would be the only wedding there during that day. We loved the privacy and the staff was great!.

I grew up close by and everyday on my way to school our bus would pass by Chateau Polonez and I thought it was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. Of course it was the first place I imagined when I envisioned myself walking down the aisle.
